For the past eight years, she’s lived a quiet life in the countryside of St. Claire with her loving husband and daughter. But her past was a continued shadow and chickens always come home to roost.

A 26-year veteran on the force, Curt joined the Brooklyn Heights Police Department (BHPD) in 1994, starting out as a patrolman. he was promoted to Sergeant in 1997 before becoming an investigator in the Detective Division in 2003.

In 2001 he was awarded the Medal of Valor, the highest law enforcement medal awarded to officers by the Brooklyn Heights Police Department. The Medal of Valor is an award for bravery given to officers for individual acts of extraordinary bravery or heroism performed in the line of duty at extreme and life-threatening personal risk. After ending his shift in the early morning hours of March 1999, he heard a call over his radio.

Upon arrival to the scene, he found a small child lying in a pool of blood. After further investigation, he learned her family had been killed by mafia and took the child under his wing, vowing to protect her at all costs. He put that promise to the test when the Crime Syndicate sent numerous hit-men to assassinate the then 10-year old Alexa who was living in a group home at the time. Not only did he take out the three hired guns, he also saved her from being kidnapped and killed as well as  her foster parents and the four other children living in the home at the time.

Melissa took her love of art and made a career of it. Working as the Manager of a prominent art gallery has allowed her to not only explore her own talent but help promote lesser known talent around her. Her relationship with Alexa is one of the most surprising as she had always been reluctant to accept her in her brother’s life. However, one night out with a friend changed everything. Believing she was unconscious proved an error as Melissa was and is very aware of Alexa’s abilities.
